Snake Battle ends in 3-3 Draw

The Nottingham Vipers managed to steal their first point of the season in a 3-3 draw against the Chelmsford Cobras in their second road game of the season. Another long bus journey beginning at 7am saw the Vipers struggle yet again in the first period falling behind 2-0 despite many scoring chances.

Mullen managed to bring the Vipers within one goal halfway through the second before the Cobras bounced back 4.5 minutes later. A first line surge saw Cooke and Chillman set up Mullen in the final 10 seconds of the 2nd period to pull within one goal heading into the 3rd period.

Great defending in the third kept the Cobras at bay while Mullen notched a hat trick to even the game 3-3. Despite the many scoring chances and pressure put on by the Vipers as well as a final seconds time-out, Vipers were unable to pull ahead for the win, resulting in a 3-3 draw.

Vipers have now moved up to 6th place in the league table as they set to face the Whitley Squaws in their second home game of the season on November 8th, 2015—7:30pm Face-off at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham.
